We travel in the morning from Marrakech to Essaouira, a relaxed town set 3 hours from Marrakech, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site – a protected city.
The ramparts of Essaouria and the 16th century walled city offer astonishing views of the Morocco’s Atlantic Ocean.
After lunch, there is time for a guided tour to visit the highlights of Essaouira. Dinner and night in a hotel.
Leaving Essaouira after breakfast, you follow the coastal road south with constant views of the Atlantic, often battering the rocks and sending up picturesque spray as it beats against them.
We stop in Agadir for lunch.
In the afternoon, the itinerary continues to Taroudant (called the little Marrakech) where you spend the night.
We travel from Taroudant to Ouarzazate passing by Taliouine (the heart of the saffron growing area of Morocco) and Taznakht (famous for its original traditional Berber rugs) where we stop for lunch.
In the afternoon, a visit to the Atlas Film studios is scheduled, before continuing to Ouarzazate for the night in a hotel.
Morning departure from Ouarzazate to the Dades gorges passing the oasis of Skoura where we stop to visit the Kasbah of Amrdil.
From here, our route takes us through Kela’a M’gouna and the rose valley where we stop for lunch.
In the afternoon, we drive off-road along the road of a thousand kasbahs to the Dades gorges for the night.
After breakfast, there is time for a walk alongside the Dades gorges and the Dades valley. The drive through the track and along the High-Atlas continues from M’Semrir to the Todra gorges via the villages of Ait-Hani and Tamtatouchte where lunch will be served.
In the afternoon, there is time for a leisurely walk along the Todra gorges and in the palm grove of Tinghir. We spend the night in a guest house.
After breakfast, we drive from the Todra gorges to the dunes of Mezrouga via the ziz valley, the oasis of Tafilalet and arrive in Erfoud in time for lunch.
In the afternoon, we continue our trip to Erg Chebbi in time for an hour camel ride in the sahara desert. The sunset from the top of the dunes is spectacular (250m) and afterwards there is dinner and the night in a luxury desert camp.
Relaxing morning spent in the luxury desert camp in Merzouga, lunch will be served in the town.
In the afternoon, there is time for a 2 hour of quad biking in Erg Chebbi.
After sunset, the night will be spent in a luxury desert camp which is also the venue for dinner.
If you wake up early enough, you can watch the spectacle of the sunrise, when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. After breakfast, we drive along the Paris-Dakar track with 300km of off-road driving from Merzouga to Zagora through the sahara desert to discover the desert wilderness and the Morocco’s deep south.
At the end of the afternoon, Zagora offers dinner and a night’s rest.
After breakfast, we leave at mid-day from Zagora to Erg Chegaga passing by Tamegroute where we stop to visit the Koranic library.
We reach M’hamid by the lunch time. In the afternoon, we make our way across another 66km through the varying features of the desert; ‘erg’, ‘reg’, ‘hammada’, oases, to the Erg Chegaga which, at 300m high and 45km long, are the largest in Morocco.
These dunes afford a wonderful view of the setting sun. Dinner and night in a desert camp.
If you wake up early enough, you can watch the spectacle of the sunrise. After breakfast, the road crosses another 100km of sahara desert, driving along the dunes and passing the dry lake of Iriqui.
The first village beyond the desert, Foum Zguid, is the place for lunch.
In the afternoon, we travel north to Ouarzazate past hills and oases of palm trees until we reach the town of Taznakht, a small Berber town famous for its Berber rugs.
We reach Ouarzazate by the end of the afternoon for the night in a guest house.
Relaxing morning with time to experience a traditional Moroccan Hammam and a local Spa treatment.
After lunch, We visit the kasbah of Taourirt and the oasis of Fint. We spend the night in a guest house.
Driving north, you leave the main road and take a side road to the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou.
The road then continues along the ounila valley with beautiful and prosperous villages, stunning mountains and views to Telouet, where you stop to visit the kasbah of Telouet and have lunch.
At the end of the afternoon, we arrive in Marrakech which marks the end of your tour.
